I don't think climate change is going to be a bad deal. Of course, we will be seeing the melting of the ice caps and the extension of the seas, but eventually the water is going to spread into the core of the United States, creating a moister, more tropical United States. The South is probably going to resemble of what it is of Florida now and Florida will eventually be a steamier, hotter climate, similar to that of India or Indonesia. I can see a monsoon like pattern of climate in Florida.
Minnesota is known for the frostbite state, but with climate change, Minnesota might resemble of what it is in Missouri. If the average temperature of the earth rose about 10 degrees, this is what I see Minnesota is going to be like. Minnesota traditionally has been known for it's snow and ice, but winter is going to be rather balmy and comfortable in Minnesota. January and February will be a comfortable, near freezing climate with less snow. You may see more wintry mix and by the end of February, that may transition to rain. The cold snaps might dip to about 0 to 10 above for a low, similar to what it is in November than the really cold we are getting now. Snowmobiling and winter sports won't be as common in Minnesota. This will be better for energy cost for heating but air conditioning might be more in demand, which will balance it out.
Around about March, temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s. April will get some 60 and 70 degree weather and by about May you may see temperatures in the 80s. The early spring will give us a longer growing season, along with a longer season for outdoor sports and recreation, making it a major boost to the Minnesota economy. Different crops will be available to grow in Minnesota. The summer will be hot and dry with temperatures well into the 90s and 100 degree weather will be common in the southern part of the state, making it similar to the Great Plains, which is the breadbasket. Minnesota will turn into a fertile grassland, great for farming.
The falls will be long, with temperatures in the 50s well into November. I don't think it is going to be bad so what are you worrying about.
