Obama's speech is not going to recover the economy, it is actually going to make the economy work. Right now, the unemployment rate is about 9.1%, but it may look like true unemployment might be higher. There are children, people on social security, welfare, blah, blah, blah, which makes unemployment even higher. Humans are designed to work and Obama is trying his best to get people to work - in Soviet dictator style.
Obama wants to increase education - more education means more worthless scholars being college professors and doing research at universities. We are overflowing with them. More education means more taxes and more indoctrination. More time in college, less working. The more taxes, the harder the private sector has the money to hire people. He also wants people to do more environmental jobs. Not all people care about the environment and protecting the planets resources. We have plenty of resources in our plane that are waiting to use, like in Siberia.
Siberia is a massive forest and wilderness, but this could be a place of economic opportunity if we use it. If the temperature rises, places in Africa and such will be warmer of course, but people will migrate to the North and the South such as Siberia. Antartica could be inhabitable, and it could finally grow vegetation and support life, giving us more room for more people on the planet. Use your head!
