The youngins are turning elderly and the elderly are turning into youngins

We have our stereotypes and assumptions on what old people are supposed to act like and what kids are supposed to act like.  But  there is a flip flop between the children and the old people.  I seen that at the fair.

The things that are targeted for children don't seem to attract children.  For example, the rides at the fair.  It looks like my parents are more excited about the rides at the fair than the children - a lot of the rides are nostalgic for the parents such as the Ferris Wheel and Merry Go Round, which are old fashioned rides.  This is old 1890s crap!  But there are things that are targeted for grandma that kids just flock too.  Park benches.  It looks like there are a lot more teenagers sitting on the park benches, which are designed for old people to sit down and get tired.  The VFW and Legion Booths are designed for old Veteran farmers -  there are teenagers sitting and getting food there than the old people.    The Beer garden attracts the old hippies - not the young college frat boys.  But these old hippies want to relive their college frat days of Summer of 1969.

This is not at a county fair - it is all over the place.  Kids will love anything that Grandma is supposed to love and Grandma will love what kids are supposed to love.  There is something fishy about this.  Take rock music - the music of teenagers. Teenagers are supposed to be rambunctious and rebellious -  this music for people up to 80 years old - it is old people.  Rap music is for the younger generations - heck, but the values are stuck in the 1920s gangsta era.  Old school I mean old school.  Video games which are supposedly designed for children are loved by 30 year olds  and cartoons - there are 60 year olds watching cartoons.  Old people love Tom and Jerry and my grandpa thought Spongebob Squarepants was funnier than shit.

So maybe the things liked by old people are liked by young people.  Old people stuff is the stuff that is designed for your modern teenager.  They are going against the old stereotype of youth - since youth is getting older and older.  It looks like the old people are talking more sloppy than the teenagers - which are very polite these days.

American Idol is the proof that teenagers like old people stuff.  Look at il Volo - a bunch of teenage Italians are singing some nursing home Lawrence Welk type  stuff.
