I have been reading some information about becoming less shy and little more outgoing, and I have came across a brilliant article. This article states the reasons why I tend to be shy and not as outgoing as I think I am, and it boils down to many things. But the main thing is that I am a bit skepitical about humanity.
The main cause of shyness is too much focus on yourself and on other people. Shy people also tends to have an attitude; a pretty good opinion of themselves too. They want everything to go their way and that is not the way things go. They want to be social perfectionists, expecting everything to work out and they have to understand that we are "human", and they tends to make mistakes.
Maybe I should be a little less skepitical about people and start having a different idea about humanity. If you think of humanity at the most basic, logical level, we are not much different than anyone else. Of course we have our beliefs, backgrounds, and nationalities, and whatnot, but there are many things that we have in common.
Almost all humans on the basic level are made with the same parts. The skin is an organ, and the color of our skin is based on the amount of melanin that is in our bodies, but that is perceived as race. We are made with the same biological features. Some people have bigger boobs or butts, but we all have the same parts. We breathe the same air and we drink the same water, and we all nourish our bodies with the same foods. Everyone has to eat. Everyone has to sleep somehow or another. Everyone has to keep cool and warm. We all need to obtain some type of shelter to protect us from the dangers of the outside world. There is a lot we have in common.
But there are things that make us different. We have different cultures, lifestyles. occupations, favorites, beliefs, you name it. That what makes us special and we should learn more about each other. That what makes people interesting and you won't find out what makes us interesting unless you meet new people. Everyone on this planet has a story to tell and our goal is to connect and to tell the story to everyone to create one big story.

Planning for the future
Sometimes it is just a good idea to sit down and make some plans for the future. 2011 was a year that not much happened, but I am continuing to work on my driving skills and I also established a pretty good idea for what I am going into for the future. The Organizational Behavior degree is the most compatible for me and it is the one that will get me the most jobs that are in the future. I am also trying to get a job, but we have the bad economy that is keeping me from getting a job.
Oh there is a lot to do and in too little time - but it looks like I am going to take my time.
This fall my focus is into continuing my education, along with looking for a job. I am also trying to get a better social life and trying to make new friends. You never know, a relationship might pop up, but I shouldn't be that desperate. The roommates and the lack of people my speed in my classes prevented me from making new friends, but at least I have made a few new friends. A lot of my classes are based on pondering about myself and the world around me. Now I am going to get down and dirty in my classes with more of the left brain being exercising, such as logic. This semester I am pretty sure I am going to make new friends - it is almost impossible, unless I am hiding in my dorm room and hiding in the library, not saying anything.
2012 is supposed to be a wrap up year and my focus might be into getting a job. I'll try to get a job by this spring and continue that throughout the summer. 2011-2012 is going to be focused on easing my way into the real world. 2010-2011 was based more on getting my head screwed on, along with my new medicine treatment, and 2009-2010 is getting adjusted to living away from home. Probably by the time I get out of college, by the spring of 2013, I will be ready to enter the workplace.
Sometime around 2013 or 2014, I'll focus on buying my own dwelling and the next step is to find my true love. A lot of people my age are starting to find their love and dating, but I haven't even gotten started. I never dated in my life, so this dating thing might be new to me, but I need to find someone that probably has similar values. I am planning on marrying around the year 2015 or 2016 or so, but by about the year 2020 I am pushing it. I should start to have kids around 2017-2018 or so. But you never know, things may change but before getting married, I need to live the bachelor life and my focus should be on finding love. I can start right now but education should be the main focus before love and romance.

A lot of jobs - even fantasy jobs - could be done at home
For the most part, you can do most jobs at home if you have the right equipment, education, and motivation. You really don't have to go along with the rat race because the rat race is not cool. Why waste your time going through the everyday hassle of old school crap such as job interviews that you know that are not going to work. Then you have to deal with a bunch of assholes called the US government - which is creating more debt that will NEVER be payed off. Why are you wasting time? You are in the 21st century, where you can do more things than ever at home.
The World Wide Web is your friend. This thing can make anything possible. Back then, no one could shoot their mouth out for the whole world to be seen. Now, you can be heard. Some amazing writing by amateurs just like you could be exposed for the whole world to see. You can always show the world what you got for anything. You love to cook - no problem - show off your recipes. You don't have to be in Hollywood to be in movies anymore. With the right equipment and a YouTube account , you can be on TV. You can also be in a porno flick as well and it hasn't have to be done by Playboy or Penthouse - it could be some college girls dorm room. You can share your music to the world, your art to the world, your woodworking projects to the world. You can share anything to the world.
There are some people that have their income off of eBay and you can even become famous off of YouTube if you work the system. Or this site. Welcome to a new age - a new era. The rat race should go bye bye.

Why are we wasting our time?
We are all made to work somehow but it looks like we are wasting too much time to find work. We are in a midst of a recession, even though the media says we are out of the recession, the economy is probably not going to recover to the way it was before. I have a feeling that the current way of working has failed and the more traditional way of labor will be better off. It worked for thousands of years, but why we had to change in the last 100 years.
The last 100 years or so have seen a major change in the way of living. It has changed a lot in the last 30 years. But it looks like this system of working is not working out. It looks like everyone has to work in some type of office, since the factories had been sent to China. But even when you apply for McDonalds, it is too much of a hassle. To even be successful in life, you need to go to college to learn how to suck up to a boss and get a long with your coworkers. Most of the classes in college involve skills more for the job seeking and the interview process. When you want to get a job, you'll have to apply for some company, kiss the bosses butt, and try to gamble in getting a job. But for the most part, getting a job seems to be based on networking and references, and the more Twitter, the better. This way of employment seems to be an unfair way to employ.
The more traditional way will be better off. For the first part, people need to eat and do that stuff, so we are made to find our own food. In the modern world, you buy processed food at the supermarket or eat at McDonalds, or just go hungry. But in the more traditional world, you'll have to work for your own food. Once you work for your own food, you will appreciate it. Hunting is a way to get meat, but there are endangered species. Who cares - to prevent endangered species - just round up a bunch of animals and let them have sex with each other to create more species. Once you have more species, it is time to butcher the animals and you have food. Planting is another way to get wonderful food - you'll get enough veggies. Once you get your food for yourself, you can share you food to your next door neighbors. Then you can go to the market and sell your food for everyone else to eat - the city slickers. Home grown food is healthier and you'll appreciate it - it is not like the processed General Mills stuff.
If you got the food situation figured out - you can learn to do other things. You can make things such as furniture, clothing, build houses, etc. There is a job for everyone and everyone does it out of their own initiation. They are using their true talents instead of using the gift of gab to suck up to bosses. Now we have the modernized world of the internet, which will make the selling process a lot easier. Education could be done out of the home, just like they do in Australia, which allows you to do other things than to go to school.
Going to town is more for a social gathering. This is a place where you can eat out, go to dances, watch movies, and just feed the pigeons. It is not just a place just to pay your taxes and to go to the doctors. If the private doctors out of the home won't be that bad - or private dentists. You can easily start your own dental business from out of the home - you don't really have to base everything in a building.
This is probably going to be the mousy world of the future and people will be happy. You'll spend a lot more time with friends and family. People should be able to do what they like and to do what they are good at, and make a profit out of it. This is true capitalism. If you want to be a dentist, you can be a dentist out of your home. If you want to be a music producer, you can be one out of your home. A filmmaker - you can easily do it out of your home. Plumbers, furniture makers, photographers, models, doctors, cooks, farmers, auto mechanics, DJs, radio annoucers - in this modern world, you don't have to even leave home.
If you want to find a job - don't find a job, make a job. Become a window washer, a milk deliverer, a person that makes lip balm, a gardener, an animal trainer, anything. College classes could be taken online - sometimes for free. The internet could make anything possible so get off your butt. Why go with this "outdated rat race" where you can be a real American.

There is hope for the future
I got my apartment rearranged for next year, and it looks like that next year is going to be my best year in college yet. The first year was a year where I was learning the ropes, and I had a lot to learn about life. The first year was the first year that I was truly independent, and I learned about living independent. These crappy roommates had taught me a lot of life lessons such as it doesn't pay off to act like an idiot, etc. That year was a year when I realized that I have a problem that needs to be corrected and I am not going anywhere.
The second year was pretty much a continuation of the first year, but it wasn't as fun. It was more of a year where I was readjusting to the new medications that I got for my ADD and learning more about myself. I started to have a better, more clearer view of the world and what makes people, and society tick. The more I learn, the better idea I have about the world around me and I was starting to figure out where do I fit in with society.
It seems like I have a few things that I was passionate about. It looks like there are a bunch of people that need help, and these people need my common sense and wisdom to get them back together. Every time I go to Wal Mart and stuff, I start to get disgusted with the fact that there are full grown adults, that are in their 20s and 30s that are still dressing like a bunch of young children having children. There are 30 year olds that still like to play video games, which makes me sick. I see their children and it looks like their children are raising them. There is something that needs to be done.
I can see that this social immaturity is causing the world to fall apart and we need something to fix it. I also see something wrong with this society, especially in this hometown as well. I was always feeling that there is something wrong with me, but I don't think I am the problem. It is the other people that is the problem.
Next year I am going to continue my educational journey and I am going to start to learn about myself, other people, and what makes the world ticks. It looks like I have a more defined goal in life - a mission. I think there is a bunch of people that need some help or we are going to be doomed. I think there are a bunch of people that are psychologically, and sociologically messed up, and they need some help getting their act together.
Hopefully next year is going to be a good year and I am pretty positive that next year is going to be a lot better than the last few years. I have more of a backbone and I know what people are pulling. A couple of years ago I didn't. But the main thing I should focus on is continuing my education so I can help these people.

How the last 20 years is seen as a crisis
The last 20 years to some is a time of peace and prosperity, but I don't think we are truly into peace and prosperity as it claimed to be. It looks like we are in more times of crisis; it is the downfall of the American society that used to be strong.
Since the time I was born, in 1991, a lot has changed. Around 1990 -1991, things have been great. Communism was starting to fall, the internet was introduced, and we were entering the freer world of the new millennium. Capitalism has been on the rise since the 1980s and many new scientific advantages are taking place. But it looks like the course of the last 20 years, it looks like things are getting worse than better. Here are some things:
Terrorism: Terrorism has be going on since the time of the Bible, but it looks like that terrorism may had picked up since the 1990s. The "big one" was the 9/11 attacks, which was basically one of the worst attacks on American soil since Pearl Habor. Pearl Habor was nothing compared to the 9/11 attacks. The World Trade Center was bombed before in the 1990s and there has been numerous terrorist attacks. Bill Clinton is somehow of a terrorist by starting some snit war in Kosovo just when he is getting his dick licked.
School violence has been another trouble and it looks like it is a sign of a downfall of society. Nobody even thought twice of killing students in a school, even the creepiest of all people. But now people are so whacked out that they start killing people in schools. School shootings have been more common throughout the 2000s. I remember when I was in the 10th grade or so, there were school shootings and bomb threats all over the place, even in shopping malls, etc.
There has been a morality crisis as well. Of course, we have our freedom of speech and expression, but it looks like things are starting to cross the line. The radio is starting to let you get by with the most filthiest sounding music and talk radio shows, especially on satellite radio, are getting pretty raunchy. TV is getting dumber and dumber, as long as dirtier. The Girls Next Door is almost having Playboy TV on the TV. There are a lot of young children, and young children should not be seeing sexually explicit stuff on TV. Anyone could access pornography and even child pornography, which is pretty much an illegal taboo, is on the rise. We are starting to act like a bunch of animals. Pornography is also starting to glamorize the most taboo, sickening sexual practices. The best sex is the romantic sex which has true passion and intimacy. Slow, simple sex is a lot more beautiful than the "weird sex" that is starting to be viewed on these trashy sites.
There has been a downfall of the family. The family structure has declined and many children are in messed up families. The traditional family values of the 1940s and 1950s when America was at its high point are starting to decline at the moment. Cohabitation is on the rise without getting married and many couples are having children without getting married, which destroys the family structure, which is the basis of a more complex society. Gay marriage is started to be excepted, along with the acceptance of bisexuality and transgenderism. Children are being sent to day cares, which gets rid of the intimacy and bonding between children that is needed to have true trust with the environment. There is also a huge increase in domestic violence in the home; pure child abuse and neglect, not just discipline, that is really making home life horrible for children.
Although the practices of communism may have been destroyed about 20 years ago, it looks like the practices of socialism, communism, and Marxism has been accepted more and more in different forms, such as environmentalism. The United States is getting less and less free than it used to be. The United States may be a free country on paper, but it is not truly a free country. Global warming is an excuse to get more government, along with the "energy crisis" which is a sneaky way to bring back the Soviet utopia. The United States is loosing its luster and its identity as well. Illegal immigration is on the rise, and the acceptance of diversity, and things that are considered taboo in American society. It is okay to have different races, cultures, whatnot in the United States, but not enough to get rid of a true identity of the United States. Other countries, such as France, have a cultural identity. You know France is France - it is frog legs and ooo laa laa. The United States is now a mess - but the center of the country has a true cultural idenity and most people on the coast don't want to accept it. We have been on an ideological battle for many years - America sucks or America rocks.
I have been born in a crisis - we have been in a crisis that is as worse as it was during the time of the Depression and World War II. This Recession could be a small depression - it looks like it is similar to the panics of the turn of the century - the last century. But it looks like we may have been going through some economic crisis ever since the time of the 9/11 attacks. The dot.com bubble burst was possibly the start of the economic crisis of the new millennium and we have been going through a sociological and moral crisis since the time I was born. I hear about a more environmental crisis - not as much, but we are going through crisis as much as other means.

What is love to me?
For a while, I am just thinking about just typing about various topics to get things off my chest. Maybe this will help me find myself a little farther and to find my true identity, along with find out what my views of things in life. I had tried to define friendship and what I think it is to be a friend, but I am also trying to define love as well.
I never been in love, but that is debatable. It only depends on what you consider love to be. I find love and friendship basically the same thing, but love as a different twist. There is a difference between love and lust. Love means you'll like the person - you have that bond between that person but lust means you are just horny and you'll go after just about anyone.
I never had a girlfriend, but I know when love is going to hit me. You can't really find love - it just happens. It is something about that person that makes you make the hairs on your body just stand up, you have this nice tingling sensation in you. I think it actually hit me with a few people - I just look at that person in the first glance and I feel like "that's it". She is for me - I love her. Love is different from looking at some hot blonde chick with hot boobs or something like that - it goes a little bit farther. Love means you care about this person; that person becomes a part of you. Someday it'll just hit me - it may be just a good friend or it may be some girl that just it. But I notice the ones that I fall in love with will probably be someone that remind me of myself. A girl version of me - someone that just gets me for just the way I am and I don't have to put on an act, because she just loves me anyway.
But it looks like I am working too hard - maybe I need to let love find me because love is something that is practical and has a formula for it. Love involves deep emotion and compassion, a spiritual connection with someone. Maybe it is someone that God chooses for me. Maybe it is someone that I truly need.
If I want to find love, I can't define on eHarmony or all that crap. It is not going to work that way. Love is something that hits you at the strangest times and maybe at the people that you don't truly expect. If I want to find love, I should go deeper into myself - into the subconscious; the soul. I should meditate or ask God who I truly love. Love is something you get from the heart, not the head.

The youngins are turning elderly and the elderly are turning into youngins
We have our stereotypes and assumptions on what old people are supposed to act like and what kids are supposed to act like. But there is a flip flop between the children and the old people. I seen that at the fair.
The things that are targeted for children don't seem to attract children. For example, the rides at the fair. It looks like my parents are more excited about the rides at the fair than the children - a lot of the rides are nostalgic for the parents such as the Ferris Wheel and Merry Go Round, which are old fashioned rides. This is old 1890s crap! But there are things that are targeted for grandma that kids just flock too. Park benches. It looks like there are a lot more teenagers sitting on the park benches, which are designed for old people to sit down and get tired. The VFW and Legion Booths are designed for old Veteran farmers - there are teenagers sitting and getting food there than the old people. The Beer garden attracts the old hippies - not the young college frat boys. But these old hippies want to relive their college frat days of Summer of 1969.
This is not at a county fair - it is all over the place. Kids will love anything that Grandma is supposed to love and Grandma will love what kids are supposed to love. There is something fishy about this. Take rock music - the music of teenagers. Teenagers are supposed to be rambunctious and rebellious - this music for people up to 80 years old - it is old people. Rap music is for the younger generations - heck, but the values are stuck in the 1920s gangsta era. Old school I mean old school. Video games which are supposedly designed for children are loved by 30 year olds and cartoons - there are 60 year olds watching cartoons. Old people love Tom and Jerry and my grandpa thought Spongebob Squarepants was funnier than shit.
So maybe the things liked by old people are liked by young people. Old people stuff is the stuff that is designed for your modern teenager. They are going against the old stereotype of youth - since youth is getting older and older. It looks like the old people are talking more sloppy than the teenagers - which are very polite these days.
American Idol is the proof that teenagers like old people stuff. Look at il Volo - a bunch of teenage Italians are singing some nursing home Lawrence Welk type stuff.

What is a friend?
There is one thing that is almost certain about humanity. There will always be people that will like you and there will be people that don't like. People come in all shapes and sizes, and the world is becoming more and more diverse than ever before, which makes it harder for people to find common bonds and interests, but there is always a friend for everyone. Even the most lone wolf type people out there, there is always a potential friendship awaiting for them. In today's society, I don't think people will ever be a true loner - it is almost impossible unless you are placed on another planet. But even if you were placed on another planet, you'll eventually make some relationships with the possible beings that are on that world.
It looks like true friendship is starting to die down and everyone has a different philosophy on friendships. What I consider a friend is simply someone that you like. There is something that you like about that person that makes you want to be a friend. But it is getting harder and harder to find people that are true friends because of the increasing individuality and diversity in the world. Friends are based on common bonds and the more you have in common with people or in a society, the more likely you'll become friends with someone. A friend could be simply someone who shares the same neighborhood as you, or went to school with you, or possibly grew up with similar experiences. A friend could also be the total opposite as well but you need each other. Maybe a loud person needs someone to quiet you down or maybe a messy person need someone to make them neater.
I have a belief of what a true friend is and what a not so true friend. Some friends you party and tell dirty jokes with you are not your true friends. A true friend is someone that cares about you in the inside, not the outside. You may not share the same interests or tastes, but that person is there for you when you need them.
I always thought friends were people that you hang around with and have good times with. They may seem like your friends, but I think deep down you are going to get sick of this. A true friend is someone that probably doesn't see you everyday, or someone that you may not even see for years, but out of the blue, they just come up when they need you.
College is a place where you make friends. You make your fake friends, which are more for popularity or something that look good on Facebook photos, and you have your real friends, which may be that annoying roommate you are having that you barely have many common bonds or interests, but at least the person kicked your butt when you are making a mess or help you when your dorm room is on fire.
The true element of a true friend is probably altruism - which is helping someone else when we are in need. We are focused too much on common interests, but if we base out friendships on altruism and thinking of other people , that world will be a better place.

The year without the best social life
Last year was the year I did not have the best social life in college. In fact, I didn't really have that much of a social life at all but I have a feeling that is going to change. I do understand it is the freshman thing that it is not that easy to make new friends in college, but most of these problems are up to me.
Truth is, I did make a few new friends and things are going good in my classes, but sometimes I felt very lonely. But I am going to fix this. Here are some of the reasons why I am not able to have the best social life I expected.
1. The roommates - the roommates that I have are not the coolest kids. I was rooming with people that have some borderline mental disabilities, but I only have ADD. I felt like I didn't fit in so I hid myself in my room.
2. Hiding myself in the room - I have been hiding myself in the room too much, which isolated me from the rest of the world. I should of been of more open and more outgoing to people, and get to know some of the people that live by me. Being stuck with roommates doesn't mean that I am stuck with certain people.
3. Driving - I did not have access to a car which means I am confined to the apartment. What I should of done is tried to get to know the people close by, and be a little bit more friendlier, etc. But when I do have the ability to drive, I can at least go to the mall or to one of the stores or restaurants, etc.
4. Not as interested in some people - a lot of people around me may not interest me. I think it is most likely of a generation gap which was probably was the problem with the roommates the first year I went there. I did not grow up with Eminem and these other people as much as the older generation, and I haven't grown up with Super Mario, Pokemon, etc. They also have different values - many were raised in day cares and there is nothing all I can do about this. But now there may be kids that are raised more at home. I also have been in classes where you see older people, which are on a totally different wavelength as me.
5. Just simply not trying - I think I was having a passive attitude about things and I don't think I was trying to be friendly with other people. Maybe I was having an attitude or maybe I don't really have a defined identity. But I think the thing is it is boiled down to more my attitude and the other people. I have been isolating myself too much - people won't bite.
The problem is that I probably made up my mind what I want but I don't think it exists. The truth is, I don't think I really know what I want. I probably had a messed up values, but this doesn't matter in college because people are exploring and learning about theirselves when they are taking classes. I am learning more and more about myself each time I take classes. With sociology, I may have a better idea of how society works and how I fit into societies. With psychology, I have a better idea of what makes people, including myself tick. With anthropology, I am learning that the college has different lifestyle and I am learning to appreciate my lifestyle, and to understand the other people's lifestyle, I am getting smarter, and next year, I am going to get a more smarter, broader view of the world around me.
But I know the root of my problem is that I may be a little bit too shy, and too much of a stick in the mud, and I need to open up a bit. I should have a more open mind and to think more about other people that myself. I am not trying to hard and I should keep trying. Just like the classes are opening my mind up, I should open my mind up and to understand how normal I am and how weird the other people are.

Minnesota is under government shutdown - what do we really need?
The Minnesota government is under a shutdown because of the budget proposals. The reason - too much government. Minnesota has regulations and laws for everything, you can't even poo without having some type of bathroom sanitation regulations and a bathroom sanitation certificate. It sounds like it is getting to that level.
Now Minnesota is under a shutdown and I think it is a good thing. There is too much government and most of this government is a bunch of BS. Think the Minnesota zoo - the Minnesota zoo is closed down and many people can't access the zoo. Some rich guy should start a private zoo - it will work the same way. Licensing will be shut down - the DNR will be shut down. That is a nuisance as well - you need is common sense. Don't eat more than you can handle and you'll be fine. If you catch one fish, that is good enough. You don't need 20 million fish. National Parks will shut down - who cares about the wildlife refuges. Wildlife is wildlife - they are supposed to be out in the wild, not some government controlled institution. That is not true wild life.
Here are some things that the government could stand having and here are some things that are a nuisance.
Of course, the fire department is a good idea, but if people work together to put out a fire, you don't need a fire department. A police department is fine as well but more people are placed into prisons because of government regulations. More laws, more convicts and more people placed in prisons. Sociologists are believing that prisons are overcrowded and the more people in prison, the more government funding is needed to "rehabilitate" the crooks. Less laws, less people in prison. A freer market system and less regulation will result in less people in jail. It is common sense.
The government should not have any control of your private life. Whatever happens in your home or your businesses, it is your private property and you don't need the government on your ass. Health regulations are a pain in the butt. The same thing goes with environmental regulations and safety regulations. This is showing how dumb we are to have everything "spoon fed" to each other.
Economic equality is not true with the welfare system. There is more economic inequality with the government than in the private sector. It looks like many people who work for the state get more money than the people in the private sector. The state ruins everything. Less state is better and that will result with more equality.
