Be nice to people with disabilities

I have ADHD...okay, that's cool and I am being treated for this shit.  Woot woot!  But I have been through an endless battle of prejudice and discrimination that is getting me on my nerves.  I know I am a pretty talent kid and a pretty smart kid.  I could make music like crazy and I have many great ideas.  I could be very athletic and I could have a nice personality with a great sense of humor.  What girl will not want that?  But here is the stigma - they are judging me for my quirkiness and not looking at me for who I am.  This is what has been going through high school.  High school was a constant battle - it was a constant battle since I was about 4 or 5 years old.  People thought I was retarded; maybe the so called "intelligent" people at the most idiotic school known to man.  They did not judge me by my personality; it is the idea that I have a disability and it is not the nicest thing.  This constant battle continued into college - people are walking around looking at me like I was dumb, but it did changed.  It was a lot better in college that I was in high school.

You see, the problem is that there is a big difference in opinion in what people think of me.  We have the school's idea and we have my family and everyone else's idea.  People in stores, people at church, and even other students have different ideas about me.  In other classes, students think I am pretty cool and the people in town think I am pretty talented in band.  But the people at school thinks different.  They see me as this retarded, spazzy kid that can't seem to fit in and will not be able to in the future - that is not very nice.  They don't want to see me suceed and get better just to get funding so the teachers can get some MONEY so they can BLOW it on their stupid things such as paying for their kid so they can be on the dance team.  They don't think about anyone else than themselves.  I don't have anything against the dance team; they are good - why don't I have a chance to be in stuff that the are paying for. Oh, so you can have Mr. Popularity get all the stuff - it is politics.

They should let me be "me" and not like me be some puppet so they can get some dough.  A lot of it is a cheap 2 year degree at some community college in which they are too chickened to become a nurse or a psychologist.  You should be nice to kids with disabilities - you are taught in school all about being nice to the black people during the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s - you should be taught about tolerance to disabilities.
