How much I had changed in 4 years

It seems like 4 years had passed through my life since I had started college and I had changed drastically.  I had grown up a lot and it has been a wonderful experience for me.  When I started college, I was a totally different person than when I completed college and I am not done yet.

College has done a lot for me - it got me exposed to a lot of things and it started to help me learn more about myself.  I was starting to get a philosophy on things and how things works, and what I agree with and disagree with.  I am starting to get an understanding of the world around me, as well as people.

I am not that interested in the natural world as in the social world and I am getting a better understanding of the social world around me.  It has been very good for me and I had learned a lot, and I am starting to have a very, wide, comprehensive view of the world around me.

I am starting to learn what people are pulling and I seem to have way better social skills than in high school.  I am starting to blend in, but I still have the same quirks from high school that are still coming out.  I tend to be pretty introverted and I don't know why.  I go through spells when I was pretty introverted and I was pretty extroverted.  I think when I find the right people, I tend to be pretty extroverted and there is certain people I was pretty introverted.

I had my extroverted tendencies and with certain people, the extroverted side of me come out, but ever since upper high school, such as the end of my senior year, I started to become more philosophical.  I went through spells where I wanted to ponder the world - and that was about 8th grade.

8th grade and parts of 7th grade and even 9th  grade I was pretty introverted  There was a lot of thinking, especially about the 8th grade.  But I am also going through a period of time where I was trying to figure out who I am and where I fit into the world. I was trying to fit a package, then I realized that package was not for me so there was a lot of confusion and ponderance. I think I rather get into the outside world than in the inside world - I rather experience things and fall on my butt instead of thinking things over.  I have a fear of falling on my butt - I rather do things at the right place and the right time than falling on my butt.  There is lots of figuring out I am trying to do; I am trying to figure out who I am truly am.

But I think I seen a difference with my throughout the high school life and the college life.  I was lacking faith and that is through the spirit of God.  I think I need to improve my connection with God instead of myself, then I will be connected through other people through God just like high school.  I think this "God" is the glue that sticks things together.  I start to realize that I am a selfless mortal being just like anyone else and have a purpose to do, and that is decided by God.  There are many things about me that is up to God to decide, not me.

It looks like I am trying to decipher myself but there are some things that can't be deciphered and that is through God and Jesus Christ.  I think I need to improve my relationship with the Lord in the spiritual world and not as much in the secular world.  I do not need to find myself - let others find me and that might be through being a selfless individual controlled by the spirit of God.

Too much of the secularist I have to do this or do this - I think I need to develop my spiritual relationship with some higher being or consciousness like God.

A message to you high school pip squeaks

There are many myths about college and you seen these myths in the movies and on TV.  A lot of these myths are not true and are practically lies, and are there for just to simply make a plot about college and to make some money on the side.  I had been through college for about 4 years and you have the same thing as high school,  but you are going to be expected to act a lot more mature in high school and have a lot of responsibilities.  It looks like I had a lot of better time in high school than in college but the good part might be coming.

High school and college are very similar to each other indeed.  You still have cliques and stereotypes in college; you have cliques and stereotypes in the adult world. It looks like that teenager stuff don't change.  Everyone in college is going there for the same purpose - they are going there to find a career or a path in life, or try to get some education or a piece of paper for a career that they want to go into.

There are  some fun things about college; you have the flexibility but it is just about as structured as high school.  Online high school and online college is starting to emerge, so pretty much we are entering this seamless world.  It seems like you need to work harder to have a social life and try to fit in these days than it used to be, even with the social networking technology they have these days.

I have been in this dorm life and it is pretty bad in a dorm life with a drop in the economy.  The fact is that you are not going to have the fuzzy friends that you have in high school but you get to meet a whole variety of different people of different backgrounds and everything.  A college dorm is a melting pot and you get a whole bunch of diversity.  I been in the dorm with people with different disabilities , different races, different countries even and you get to learn about their differences. You realize that you like the diverse, urban lifestyle or you rather be back in "redneckland."

It looks like it is a true place to find your identity and where you fit in, but I have been exposed to this mesh that you seem to get pretty weird.

I had seen just about everything in the dorm and I can write a book about it.  I had fantasized about certain people but realized that other people are not that bad. You get lots of homework, but the classes are fun and are great ways to find yourself.

I seen I am more of the more philosophical people in college but I think it might be too much time on the TV - it is time for me to yuck up and actually watch some American Idol.  But about the time I am complete; I am going to be a well rounded person with a pretty decent education and I am going to be MATURE.  College is actually pretty left but I had become more right when I was in college - I am not a big fan of government because I think most government jobs are plain boring to work in, but I am not at the level at the tea bagger level. We do need some government such as quality education and maybe a pretty decent military, and that's about it.  NASA is cool too - the space program is awesome and crank up anything scientific research, but we don't need to have a bunch of welfare and food stamp type programs. That is making people more lazy than they really are.  Stuff such as the National Weather Service is useful - practical government we need.

Anyway, but there are some survival techniques I had learned.  I think being social is important but it looks like it is very hard to be social with people you don't want to be social with.  There are so many differences out there that you don't even trust each other.  But I had learned to actually suck up to the campus food service, get a job, and try to study.  It is not a frat time in college and it is well worth it.  I do whine about not having the social life but there is actually an exchange to this. It looks like I am starting to have a pretty good philosophy on things but maybe it is time not to get all philosophical and to start with practicality.  I will be better off to start applying things instead of analyzing my bellybutton or something like that.

Maybe to solve the philosophy there is something called a God.  This will solve everything because he is the creator and he should be bowed down and worship.  God is the creator of everything and everything seems to be in his plan.

It is not going to be Superbad when you get there - it is actually going to be a different place.  A place where you can find yourself.

The Smart TV - the comeback of TV

TV has gone downhill in the last few years - you have what is dominating the airwaves which is a load of garbage and a lack of creativity, and you have the broadness of the internet which is full of creativity and true entertainment.  It looks like that everyone has talents and many of them have the acting talents, the musical talents, marketing talents, and that is not being exposed that well to the mainstream media.

It looks like the mainstream media is boring - it is always dictated by a bunch of rich snots that don't even know the civilian life.  There is a lot of boring stuff that is on the airwaves, shown at the movie theatres, and even on the Billboard charts.  Who cares about Rihanna or Kim Kardashian.  Even the mainstream news media has been biased and only to please the Hollywood elite.

But we do have the innovation of the internet and we have the place where everything hangs out.  Even the internet is starting to get controlled by the elite as well.  YouTube's creativity had started to get eaten up by stodgy boring people but you still have lots of great, quality entertainment that keeps you entertained for hours.  But there might be a chance of the more quality entertainment on the internet to become mainstream and to make it more family friendly by using a Smart TV.

We are in our own world and we are in our own boxes - we seem to dawdle along in our own place.  One person is watching TV and another is watching YouTube.  You have about 3 TV's in the house and you have many TV like devices such as the cell phones, iPods, iPads, etc. There is too many little holes, little boxes that you don't have the community.  We are not in the real world but in a virtual world.

But there is a solution and that is the Smart TV and that might bring back family friendly entertainment.  The internet celebrities such as Shane Dawson will look very good on  a TV set as a real TV celebrity along with iJustine and all these other people. They are a part of pop culture as well, and they look as entertaining as the TV.  Why not have these people on a bigger screen than being exposed to the geek world on YouTube.  Gangman style is a pop culture sensation that started with YouTube and pretty much is now dominating pop culture. There are many very entertaining internet celebrities on the internet.

YouTube has pretty much opened the doors to the end of the corporate media - the controlled, stuffy media is not good and you can't really relate to it.  YouTube also reflects interests and are way better at targeting than the actual stodgy media.

But I can see a family connection coming - these people are family friendly for the most part.  Of course, you have your swear words and suggestive themes, but it is way watered down than the outrageous garbage on the |TV and the movies out there.

I might think that the Smart Tv is a good investment - it is finally TV with intelligence instead of a "dumb TV".

Things are starting to change already

I seen in the college and I started to realize it - it's conformity and nobody's cares about your inner self anymore; it is all about being part of the group and looking out for each other.  I notice I am one of the few people "analyzing my bellybutton" while everyone started to have it figured out.

We are starting to enter the social world again - we are community and we all want to fit in.  I don't think people care about your own world anymore; everything seems to be established and that's the way it is going to be.

I can see this at the 2012 election - after all this battle and whatnot, we seem to actually get the same thing that we been having for about the last 2 years anyway.  Mitt Romney and Obama are very similar to each other in many ways, and we might as well sit it out and keep it the same.  It looks like a lot of people are starting to get used to the Obama world and actually liking the Obama world - I don't think it is all about the wealth and the power anymore which was dominate for about the last 30 years or more.  People are learning to get by on less and become more and more social.

It is not me but access to technology has gotten a lot easier - the internet is starting to become available in more places an broadband is at an affordable rate, and smartphone technology is not a luxury, but an standard of technology.

It looks like people had made up their mind and they are going to act a certain way.  It is going to be more about their inhibitions - they are actually going to buy something anyway instead of wait off until the economy improves, which we been bunking for about the last 5 years now.

Now it seems like community and conformity is starting to become the norm - being social and getting out; relationships and fitting in are better than just plain stuff.  We are going to get your basic necessities but you are more worried about the social world than actually trying to outdo each other.  That is one thing I noticed about the last few years anyway - social interactions.  Facebook and Twitter has become the norm, and it looks like advertising has been social.  It is the first time in history you can actually BS with your favorite celebrities and even the President like he is a normal human being instead of a "God like" person like it used to.  The more community minded, seamless world is starting to pop in instead of the structure.  Who needs structure?

It looks like even revolutions are taking place by social media where people are starting to interact with each other - it seems like things are changing and evening out into a mellower world.  We might be the end of ideology.

I'm sick of this

I notice that TV and the entertainment industry had been going downhill lately.  It has never been that good, even when I was young, which was the reason why I didn't watch that much TV when I was younger, but it seems like it has gone downhill.  You used to have better shows in the 2000s which I can stand, especially on MTV but it seems like about 2006 or 2007, TV has gone south.  It might be my age or it might be my moral values.

I just can't stand the garbage they have in the movie and the TV industry, along with video games and even music.  The internet has cleaned up pretty well and we are starting to get moral standards on the internet video such as YouTube and Hulu, but it looks like the mainstream media such as the movies and TV have gone downhill.

Every time I flip through the channels, I see something that involves some sort of murder, or some weird Harry Potter type paranormal thing, or some gang related activity, as well as some thing related to family issues and teenage pregnancy.  I am sick of this!  Where is the innocence of TV where you can sit down and watch something.  I don't want to sound like some stodgy old man but I am young and I am getting sick and tired of all the violence, and insanity on TV.  I want to watch something where it doesn't have to involve some type of murder or remind you of your economic difficulties or family issues.  I want to relax and watch some TV.

The movie industry is doing the same thing - it looks like there is too much Twilight and axe murder type junk - no wonder why we are having some crisis such as Sandy Hook elementary.  Sick of this!

The sex and the profanity had dropped in the movies and the TV shows, but we need to do something about violence.  The only thing I can think of that is innocent and family friendly is probably football, and even football is starting to become weird.  Disney Channel is even start to get in the act with the Wizard of Waverly Place and showing Harry Potter.  Disney Channel and ABC Family, along with the Christian networks (when they are not whacked out doomsday nuts) are the only things that actually have some quality TV.

It used to be all about reality TV but now it is some emo garbage that is on the TV or some goth garbage - where is your innocent TV shows.  Father's Knows Best is actually a relief when TV was good.  The Simpsons and some Family Guy are still pretty decent, but they are getting pretty weird.  Family values we need - unless we do lack family.

Of course, if you want your sex and your crud, there is the internet, but the internet seems to become more the mainstream family medium than the TV.  The TV needs to be censored - we have families - maybe not '50s level yet but at least clean it up a bit. Maybe at the innocent level of the '80s and the '90s, when it is watchable.  I don't care about a murder mystery or some teenager getting pregnant or some person with autism.  Boring!  I could care less about Operah. Boring!  American Idol is probably the only family values on there and who cares - we want good TV.

Quirky is cool I guess

It looks like there is a new emerging standard of "cool" and it is starting to become the "quirky".  I don't seem to care about this "quirkiness" - I was used to a predefined set of "cool." To be cool, you'll have to have the latest clothes, the latest gadgets and you'll have to have a hot girlfriend/boyfriend along with a hot car.  It looks like the "cool" was focused on the rich and the elite and every started to conform to "the rich" and "the elite."

But now, it looks like there is a new standard of coolness.  It is not the "traditional coolness" it is a new standard of cool - something that used to be considered quirky or dorky or so not cool back then.

Back then, being cool took away your individuality but now it seems like individuality is coming back - the more individual, the more distinctive, the better which makes you more of the elite.  It looks like that the "cool" is not dictated by the elite anymore - the individual brings up something and people go along with it, thinking it is cool.

Justin Beiber was the classic cool - he is your pretty boy plastic pop singer.  He is bashed the crap out of because there is probably a new standard of cool out there. And he has a bad voice but he has improved when he finally got some testosterone and went through puberty.

But now it looks like there is a new form of "cool" and I don't seem to get it.  The Lumineers are basically not cool in my standards - they are a bunch of dorks.  They sing music that is so out of touch that is "cool".  But a lot of people like them because they are "dorks" - they are quirky and they are expressing themselves throughout their music - they are playing what they like without worrying about what other people will think of them.  I am still in this "worrying about what other people think of me" stage.

Eventually, one day I am going to figure out what is cool and not cool.  Maybe something that is a little too "cliché" or "conformist" is not cool - a lot of people are getting sick of this.

The TV is an example of everything that is "shoved" at you - Kim Kardashian according to the "elite" is cool but actually she is boring - she is another Paris Hilton rip off.  A lot of people are realizing what is truly going on with these people - Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are rich stuck up sluts. I really don't care for the garbage being shoved at you - there are other things that are probably way more entertaining and "cooler" than this stuff that is on the TV

I am new to this era of independence and it looks like there are some pretty good stuff - but I still have the worry about what everyone thinks.  We need to cool things up or maybe I don't know what is truly cool anymore.
